Hell's Kitchen - Mexican restaurants with good vegetarian options

  • 9

Hello All,
I have relatives visiting from Indonesia tomorrow. We're all vegetarian. I remember Ponche Taqueria being a great Mexican restaurant in Hell's Kitchen - since it had great vegetarian options. Are there others you would recommend in Hell's Kitchen. Any input here would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  1. Toloache on w50th would be my rec, make a reservation to avoid waits. I went with friends and the avocado fries (!), mushroom and cactus tacos, spicy kale side and quinoa paella (not traditional but nice) were all items i would order again. Be sure to ask about lard in the beans and rice.

Thanks so much...I am guessing this would not be a bad idea for lunch right? I will definitely ask about lard in the beans and rice. Thanks once again.

Definatly good for lunch, nearly the same menu as for dinner and they will also have brunch menu so you will have egg options as well.

See if you can book a reservation tho

      2. I like Toloache too but the noise level means shouting if you go at night.

I am going for lunch so that should be much better right?

I think it will be better especially if you cheat it toward the later side of lunch. But even if you can't, I think part of the problem at night is people who've been drinking, which is much less during lunch.

I am shooting to get there between 12:30 and 1 - right after a Central Park Walking tour
