L'express would be great if we were staying another day or so but we are off very early the next day so we've decided to stay close to the hotel - Thanks again for your suggestion

Accords - www.accords.ca - is not too far and has a great terrace!

Its not far at all (only one km) for most people; what is your distance requirement (one can always take a taxi if you are in a rush or can't walk that far).

Accords is closer to the Nelligan... but, both comparable in quality and price in a neighborhood known for mediocrity, overcharging or both! The atmosphere is the difference Accords is smaller and Holder can be loud (but very fun!) and more French as Accords uses more local products. I've lived between both for 11 years and they're always a reliable choice.

Holder would be my choice. It's a 5 to 10-minute walk from the Nelligan.

Méchant Bœuf is not a bistro. It's more of a gastropub in typical Old Montreal style i.e flashy and expensive.

Flashy and expensive I can easily forgive..the mediocrity is inexcusable however.

mechant boeuf is well priced for what it is - less expensive for a steak than moishes. the food is solid. definitely not an old montreal tourist trap. one of a few places in town with a bone in filet and damn is it good.
