TIP TAP ROOM
my spouse and i went to the TTR last night. it was a hopping busy friday night and we waited a half hour to get in. the lady who i take is the owner handles this very well, considering most of the clientle consists of packs of 20somethings. its a rather cavernous space with a great bar area, lots of lively activity or noise depending on how you look at it and garage doors thrown open to the street.
my spouse had a turkey burger, which came with good fries and little cranberry, a nice twist. she had a draft beer of something, i dk what, but they have a large draft craft beer and whisky selection. however, beerfans will note glasses are small and expensive.
i was just a little disappointed they didn't have the celery salad i had seen on the menu online, i really wanted to try that. so instead, i had the Endive, Radicchio, & Arugula salad. this consisted of: Grilled asparagus, toasted pine nuts, kalamata olives, parmesan cheese, & aged balsamic vinaigrette. this was very, very tasty. the grilled asparagus and the dressing (i normally dont care for any salad dressing), really were highlights, but the whole salad was a winner. instead of beer, i had a glass of block nine pinot noir to go with it as i was surprised to notice it was available and its one of the few west coast wines i like.
so if you want a lively, open atmosphere, an expensive, but good beer and liquor selection, a much better than expected and not expensive food menu and i must add very fantastic service you cant beat the TTR.
