Hell's Kitchen 7/25 finale SPOILERS

Well that went pretty much as predicted. At least both of the finalists seemed to be pretty nice people. The gal I liked didn't win (as usual). I was surprised what jerks some of the returning chefs were. (I mean you, Dan). Makes you wonder if they are just naturally jerks or if production was pushing them to act that way. I wouldn't think if you are a chef as a profession you would want to act that way on national TV.

  1. I too wanted Mary to win because I think she's really talented and actually enjoys being in the kitchen but Ja'Nel is more polished and better for Gordo's image, notwithstanding that she is full of herself.

They are all full of themselves. Each one thinks s/he's unbeatable.

    2. I also thought both women's menus were far more exciting than the usual risotto and Wellingtons they've been forced to crank out all season.

I was shocked the Jon wasn't in the final.

Gordon chose Janel asvthe winner because if her previous restaurant experience, because I thought Mary owned the service.

He alluded to that in the pre-handle turning remarks .

I think Janel will be one of the few HK winners to make it big.
Dan had to be put up to that. He can't be that much of an asshole idiot on worldwide tv.

      2. Dan better not put Hells Kitchen on his resume...

              Or the Bachelor!!

By the way you are hysterical /insightful for a 13 year old. You are probably 40 :-)

you have to be attractive and have a decivablly lucrative career for the batchelor.

thank you... my mom always says I am 13 going on 30..usally following an inapprotaite penis joke that makes her remind me to remember what company I am in outside of the house...

Although you are totally right ....

*Shouldnt* they have Dan or a guy like him on to liven up the show?

                  1. re: C. Hamster

lol--- how pray tell are you going to get one of those high matince princess to say "please accept this rose" to Dan???

the best we can hope for is another season of 80 plates or maybe the amazing race teaming him and Marcel.

                    1. re: girloftheworld

I don't think she would ever have to utter such words! I'd just love to see him on one episode.

        2. we finally FINALLY got to watch the finale last night. I thought Mary did a much better job running her brigade, but as mentioned downthread, Ja'Nel probably won because of previous resto experience. oh well! on to next season and a new set of "donkeys". :)

          1. Kind of a fun follow-up article on Mary, the runner-up.

              OMG

They film A YEAR in advance?

              1. re: C. Hamster

During the finale, I noted that Mary dated her final menu. It was last September. Do they really need that much time in between?

                1. re: dmjordan

With Gordon now having 5 shows on Fox, not to mention his UK programs, plus publicity and his restaurant endeavors, that may be the only way they can schedule it onto his schedule.

            2. Mary is going to be working at Ming Tsai's Blue Ginger-good for her!

That is awesome! Good for her, indeed!

"Blue Ginger Family," so maybe she'll be at Blue Dragon. Good for her!

She also used to work at Eataly.
