Tigard area

Arriving Portland on a Tues and staying in Tigard 2nights. Would appreciate suggestions for local fare--food more important than atmosphere. Will be returning to Portland on a Mon--staying near airport. Suggestions for dinner? thanks!

  1. Will you have a car while in Tigard? The La Provence Bistro is in Lake Oswego but is only a short drive from Tigard.

We will have a car. Planning to go to farmer's market on Wed. Staying in Tigard, but not confined to area. Will have 2 nights for dinners.

I have never been to La Provence for dinner but have been for breakfast and lunch a number of time. It is always very good. I would go for dinner without hesitation.

    2. Tigard, huh... You'll find lots of little family owned Asian and Mexican restaurants that are not much on atmosphere. And you'll find lots of chain restaurants. If you have a car, you may want to visit Lake Oswego, which is only about five or ten minutes away. Oswego Grill for "local" type fare - seafood, salads, pretty good drinks. Momo is also good for sushi (and great food prices at happy hour). Babica Hen and La Provence in Lake Oswego have excellent breakfasts and lunches. Riccardo's has very yummy Italian food with an AMAZING Italian wine selection. If you like wine, visit the little wine shop/cafe across the parking lot. Hope that helps - I hope you get a chance to experience more of the Portland area just sleepy little Tigard! :o)
