Le Pigeon - dress code

I looked it up and the popular opinion is "business casual". Do you think it would be frowned upon for my husband to not wear dress shoes for dinner at this place? Anything to keep our luggage light is helpful. Just figured I'd ask this ahead of time :) thanks.

  1. Have you seen Portlandia? ;-P You can wear anything, anywhere in Portland it seems. Ballgowns can be seen next to Burkinstocks and dreadlocks in all restaurantsl LP included. If anything, Portland is a very dress down town. Pack light.

Totally agree. Ripped jeans, cutoffs, flip flops, whatever. You might have to meet a certain minimum number of tattoos, however...

Thanks guys, I figured as much after seeing a similar comment in the thread asking for anniversary dinner ideas but wanted to make sure :)

    2. business casual in portland means you are wearing some sort of footwear, some something to cover your genitalia and underwear, and some sort of clothing to cover your chest and some sort and clean underwear.

i.e. if I can tell what gender you are by looking below your belly button, that is not business casual.

It is funny, and true! One of my favorite trifectas in town is to have dinner at Le Pigeon, go see a concert at the Doug Fir and then go to Union Jacks and see some local talent. And I wear sandals the whole time if it's not raining and don't ever get any weird looks.
