Late dinner in Paris this Thursday - corporate account
Two of my Executives will arrive this Thursday between 8:30-10:30pm, depending on the flights. They will likely stay at the Four Seasons in teh 8th. Could anyone recommend a nearby restaurant that could take them at short notice and late in the evening?
We're based in NY and they've had their choice of restaurants here as well. So the budget is elastic as it will be expensed. Nevertheless, I'd prefer not to get giddy with the bill. Perhaps 50euros and under / entree?
La Maison de l'Aubrac on the rue Marbeuf fits the bill...classic cuisine/ beef specialities... just a 5-min stroll from the Hotel George V (a Four Seasons hotel)... open 24 hours... ok for walk-ins... main course 20 to 30€.
BTW, in France (and most of the world), an "entrée" (which literally means start, beginning etc) is a starter/ first course. Dunno how it got moved to mean the main course in the USA.
" Dunno how it [entrée] got moved to mean the main course in the USA."
Easy, just like matineé, inhabité and amateur got corrupted.
But back on topic, what's wrong, Parnassien with Le Cinq itself? OP says 20-30 E main but we all know what "corporate account" means, hey, the sky's the limit - 260 E, easy money. Or the Lounge for a Caesar salad at 29 E.
Ok, I'll get serious, Le Charbon Rouge, 25 rue Marbeuf, open til 2 AM or Parnassien's La Maison de l'Aubrac, equally good meat.
La Maison du Caviar, a few blocks away, is open til 1 am. I have fond memories of that place, and of my former expense account. Guests of the Geo V will be most welcome on short notice.
