Cyndi the great fish lady - stellar halibut

i buy from Cyndi and from New Deal and love and trust them both - yesterday's wildcaught halibut from Cyndi, ordered ahead and picked up at the Brookline farmer's market, was the best halibut I've had since my last best halibut. So lucky to be able to rely on this excellent source. thanks Cyndi

  1. Does she still get her fish from Globe?

    1. Do you know if she venders at the Wakefield Farmers Market on Saturdays?

I love her fish also and she is a great person. Cyndi is one of several people who sell fish from Globe at several area farmers markets. Go to Globe Seafood website to see a list of the farmers markets they service.

That's what I thought. I like Cyndi very much too, but it's not always worth tolerating the barbarian hordes and lines (even if ordering ahead) at Brookline, when I can get the same fish quieter markets or retail (e.g. Dave's Fresh Pasta).

I believe the one at Wakefield is the same person who is at Middleton on Wednesdays. Not sure if that is Cyndi.

I also picked up some excellent halibut last Wednesday in Middleton from Globe.

There is a photo of Cindy at this link if that helps you identify her from other markets.

And, for those who don't know, for the past few years, after the market season, she has a weekly pick up point at the When Pigs Fly store around the corner on Beacon Street.

Assume everyone knows about her weekly mailing?

I think I just saw that The Fish Lady from Globe at Melrose on Thursdays is Michele. Has anyone gotten it there? Do you have to order ahead or do they ever have some there on the spot? Whats the price like for halibut, salmon, swordfish.. thanks!

          2. The seafood vendor at the Billerica and Westford farmers' market is Two Buoys Lobster.
I don't know if they sell at other FMs. I got a small, expensive-but-excellent, piece of halibut last week. My initial intention was to broil it but I changed my mind and stretched it from one meal to 6 by turning it into Manhattan-style chowder.
