Mamma Maria attempts new menu...and gelato

Gelato with Capogiro down the street? And FIFTEEN dollars for spaghetti with garlic and oil? I wish them luck.

  1. More competition is only good for the Ave. Yeah that dish seems high but overall the prices are in line with the neighborhood.

    1. While I doubt I will be trying the gelato at Mamma Maria's anytime soon, I rarely go to that Capogiro outpost anymore because the quality is not the same as Center City. Since the product is made elsewhere and delivered frozen, I have had too many scoops there with either freezer burn or slightly melted to pay those prices.

One visit to the Passyunk Ave. Capogiro was enough for me. Also, very small selection.

      2. Hmm, the gelato is coming from Bindi in Italy. From what I know (admittedly not much), it's not even that good.
