FIVE GUYS - Mayonnaise Brand?

DannyMcCaffrey Jul 18, 2013 12:56 PM

I already asked, and was already told, and already forgot. But I'll be damned if it isn't better than all others.

But now the GM in Reston won't tell me cuz he's concerned that "corporate might have a problem" - perhaps because I called instead of asking in person. But anyways...

Anybody else remember?

does "admiration" ring a bell? it is a thick, commercial, and pretty tasty mayo (for non-home-made, of course).

Admiration - I think that might be it. The Arlington branch told me that they used Kraft and now US Food. But Admiration shows up in web searches. And Kraft tastes...krappy. Hmm.

Perhaps it's all up to the tasting. How'd you guess?

Is it Dukes? I heard that's pretty popular in some parts. Heinz also makes a mayo, which I recently discovered. I don't really care for it though - very oily.

Dukes is what I thought it was too, but I know it's not. The jar seemed to remind me of Dukes thought.

I am wondering since its a franchise whether they have to buy the same brand throughout the country.

All Franchise/Chains have an approved, or required product list to be purchased from an approved food distributor. There usually is an approved substitute list as well for emergencies. Based on the the size of the operation of both the chain and the distributor, there may be different products used due to transportation logistics and what's available regionally in some instances

It's probably ADMIRATION...that seems to be the common, bog-standard (and cheap) food service mayo.
