Looking for a great fried chicken sandwich

  • 9

Preferably spicy. I've read about Cutty's, but where can I find one every day of the week?

  1. Back Bay Social Club has a pretty terrific fried chicken sandwich. Not spicy, but very good.

    1. Coast Cafe in Cambridgeport.

      1. Grumpy White's in Quincy...not fancy, but decent.

Better than decent. They also have a very tasty gravy to go with it.

Port 305 also has very good fried chicken, and I'm sure they'd make a sandwich with it. Goes real good with their Asian Slaw.

I was at Grumpy's recently, and the menu stated in red bold letters that they no longer serve onion rings. WTF?!?!

That is strange. My wife noticed that also. So we now order mac and cheese (nasty good!!), for an app. instead of the onion rings.

          2. A slightly non-traditional option could be a fried chicken po boy at Po Boys in Newton.

            1. Plough & Stars, between Central and Harvard, has a good one at lunch -- with bacon, tomato, and great bread. Not sure how often their menu changes. (Tip: they go heavy on the mayo, so request it on the side.)

              1. Five Horses Tavern in Davis—the breading isn't spicy but you can request any of their sauces (always changing, the spicy right now is sweet chili mayo and excellent)

For fried chicken (not sandwich), Trina's Starlite Lounge in Inman is amazing!
