ISO: A Decent Cheese Steak
So it's been awhile since I've had a great one like back home in NJ...wondering what hounds have to say now about getting a good one in Toronto?
When we moved out of Toronto I thought my days of culinary adventure were over, but surprisingly there is an amazing Philly place in Orangeville. It's called Philadelphia Kitchen. Their bread was perfect, crusty on the outside and slightly soft and chewy on the inside. I ordered mine with onions and green peppers, both were not overcooked. Their fries are amazing, and I would go there for the fries alone. If you aren't watching calories, they load them up with cheese whiz which creates an ooey gooey mess of deliciousness. I believe the owner is Italian, and learnt to make Philly Cheese Steaks while living in the US.
There's a very untraditional style place in Kitchener called Taste of Philadelphia or something like that.. It's definitely not classical as it uses havarti cheese, but it's still a tasty sandwich from what I remember. Been a little while
