Oak Brook Restaurants

Hi, visiting Oak Brook in the near future on business. I don't know yet if I'll have a car. I am interested in any fresh, different, unique, ethnic, etc., restaurants that I might be able to make my way to cheaply. Thanks!

  1. Oak Brook does not have a very good public transportation system. As such, if you don't have a car, your choices will be very limited. Are you staying close to the mall/McDonald's corporate HQ, or elsewhere?

I have business at 1111 West 22nd Street. Not familiar with Oak Brook, and not sure yet where I'll be staying, but probably nearby.

That address is katty-corner to the Oak Brook Center - an upscale (outdoor) shopping mall. There are plenty of restaurants in the mall but none that I'd describe as unique, etc. Here is the link to the mall's food directory, http://www.oakbrookcenter.com/dining-.... Of the restaurants listed, the best are probably Antico Posto, Mon Ami Gabi, and Wildfire.

Outside of the mall, within a block or 2 are a Ditka's steakhouse and Tuscany, an Italian restaurant (part of a small local chain). Again, not unique or ethnic.

For unique & ethnic, you'll need a car -- e.g., to drive a few miles to Westmont which has some Indian restaurants as well a hole-in-the wall Chinese noodle & dumpling place called Katy's.
