My 22yo daughter is staying on Rue des Martyrs and is looking for some places to eat by herself within walking distance. Any suggestions?
Just off is Casa Olympe on St George. They treat the single diner with wonderfully.
DCM, have you heard the definitive retirement date for Mme Versini? All I was told was this summer.
Souphie will know
I walk by it every day. Will try to remember to ask.
I don't, but it's France, so this summer means she won't be there after the summer break. If she's not already gone, I'd bet on next week.
Les Canailles on Rue La Bruyere, Pantruche on Victor Massé, Les Saisons on Rue Lamartine...all are an easy walk from Rue des Martyrs and are reasonably priced with good quality. Don't worry about the solo dining; John Talbott does it regularly.
Indeed I do. But where on the Rue des Martyrs? North for instance there's a quite lovely place Le Miroir. 94 Rue Des Martyrs, 01 46 06 50 73. South i love Les Saisons as does Laidback.
She's just south of Place Lino Ventura
She's near both Le Miroir (uphill) and Les Saisons (downhill).I prefer Les Saisons.
"I prefer Les Saisons."Me too but if she's got tired feet what's nearer is Braisenville 36 Rue Condorcet, 75009 Paris, France 09 50 91 21 74 ()
Thanks for all your help. She told me she had a great meal at Les Canailles last night. Couldn't get into Pantruche on short notice.
She wants to eat well ? She has to reserve, doh.
