Splurge Meal - Saison, Coi or Restaurant at Meadowood

  • 7

Going to SF for a few nights in September and am really having a hard time deciding where to splurge for a celebration dinner. We're venturing out to Napa for a few days so that's thrown Meadowood into the debate of Saison vs. Coi (missed out on French Laundry reservations). I've seen a few Coi vs. Saison vs. Benu vs. Crenn threads, but haven't seen much debate involving Meadowood.

Would I be better suited to splurge in SF at Saison or in Napa at The Restaurant at Meadowood?

  1. My vote would be for Meadowood

    1. Saison.

I had a bad experience at Meadowood:

Coi was nice but highly flawed to me, and I'd take Atelier Crenn over them any day.

Saison is a great choice. For highest end SF my votes go for Saison, Atelier Crenn, and La Folie.

My husband and I also had a bad experience at Meadowood : (

      2. Of the three I've only been to Saison and Coi.

And I would choose Saison every day of the week, 52 weeks of the year, and every year I'm kicking and alive.

        1. honestly, i think it really just comes down to personal taste, as they all have a slightly different style.

I'd suggest looking at a bunch of blog posts / pictures of meals / dishes, and just deciding which one looks most appealing to you.

you can't really go all that wrong with any of them.

fwiw, i like the articles on these restaurants / topics on the gastromondiale and andyhayler blogs.

          1. Meadowood. Saison is definitely as refined, eye opening, wow-ing,amazing etc. as,Meadowood food-wise, The whole setting of Meadowood is more memorable, as is the front of house staff/wine experience.
