Grouchy's Original BBQ - Niagara area BBQ trailer

  • y

I just saw KSR mention this in another thread and but he didn't get a chance to try it either.

I drove by this place on Saturday on the way to pick up a friend in the area. I was heading to the Taste of Buffalo event across the border so I didn't want to eat but it caught my eye (on Stanley street).

I don't want to get my hopes up too high but nice to have other options in Niagara. Has anyone been? TorontoJo maybe you can make a trip for us and check it out :) . Sounds like they have done days at the St. Catharine's farmer's market/etc but my friend from that area hasn't been

Though it would help if they POSTED THEIR HOURS SOMEWHERE. Twitter, FB and a web site and no hours mentioned, except for one little note on the site dated June 23 saying Friday/Saturday/Sunday 11 - 8 and then a tweet on July 8 giving more extended hours. Looks like they are closed Mondays and Thursday. Maybe. Who knows.

Sorry for the rant, stuff like this makes me grumpy. I would have gone for lunch today, but I *think* they are closed.

btw, the ambience is fantastic. a truck in an abandoned field with mud puddles and picnic tables beside a rundown hotel pool.

drop that in the middle of TO and the kitsch value alone would generate lineups.

I agree. Some places seem to not want to post hours so they can come and go as they please or something. Doesn't do much for attracting business.

      2. At this point, I've tweeted them twice and gotten zero response (including a reply to one of their own tweets, less than an hour after they tweeted). I can't say it's making me real eager to drive there and hope they're open.

I can imagine that is annoying but looks like they just aren't good at twitter. I emailed them and they responded within 5 minutes. If you have other questions for them probably best to e-mail them. I posted the hours as a separate response to this thread. Sounds like it might be good to keep an eye out on their twitter if it is super hot for the rest of the week too.

        2. Here are the hours (I emailed them)

          We are actually open Tues-Thurs 12-730, Fri & Sat 12-8, Sun 12-7.
Thank you for letting me know about what the website says. I will correct it.
(Side note, we closed already today due to the heat)
Thanks again & we'll see you soon I hope!

Nice, thanks! I'll probably wait until the weather cools off a bit. It's brutal out there and I really feel for the peeps on all the food trucks.
