I know they have it at Despana, but was hoping to find a cheaper option, preferably in Brooklyn.

I've seen it at Brooklyn Fare, but I doubt that they'd be cheaper than Despana. (Their stock fluctuates drastically, too, so I'm not sure if they still stock it.)

they have a few types of Bomba and Calasparra rice at Fairway - its certainly not cheap. Apart from going to Seabras in Newark (I am guessing) or some other neighborhood with a significant non-rich iberian population, you are unlikely to find an inexpensive source. Might consider trying one of the italian rices instead.

Thanks. I did find a bag of Calasparra at the Park Slope Food Co-op, but I don't think they have it all the time. Great to have Fairway as a back-up. I didn't know they carried it.

BTW, confirmed that Brooklyn Fare does have it. Bayo brand, $8.99 for a 1kg bag.
