Looking for a fabulous LA restaurant for dinner w my daughter in from NY. She's a real foodie, likes small plates, hip atmosphere and crowd. Any suggestions?
Based upon your criteria, I think the answer is hands-down, unequivocally, Bazaar.

Welcome to LA
Probably should add AOC and Red Medicine to the list, and perhaps either Paiche or Picca (sister restaurants) as well.
If she likes seafood, Son of a Gun.
Thanks, I saw it has a "communal table" ....is it tiny? Heard the food is great.
It's not big, but it's not tiny. Some of the food is tiny, like the lobster roll (that thing is almost like a piece of nigiri sushi) but other things are normal and the fried chicken sandwich (which is wonderful) is downright big. Great place.
It has a several individual tables, some bar seats (at the bar and against the wall) and a communal table that seats maybe 16. Here's the thing: it's all about the food.
