Joël Robuchon to open restaurant in Bordeaux (yeah, it's food - but he'll sell wine there too!)

    Interesting. I've never eaten in one of his restaurants.

    We have already preferred two-star restaurants to threes because they tend to be more inventive. Many restaurants at that level in Aquitaine although I don't follow Michelin ratings.

      You should treat yourself to, say L'Atelier in Soho>London. Great meals, and fun atmosphere.

      If in the US, then spring for La Maison de Joël Robuchon. So far, and even with some other heavy-hitters in the mix, that is our # 1.

      Interesting. We have dined am many of Chef Robuchon's restaurants, abroad, and at home. While we have enjoyed most, his LV location, La Maison, is the best, without doubt. His staff (several Euro locations), also claim that it is his favorite.

      Will be interesting to see how Bordeaux works out.

        Not places I go, Bill.

        Was in Valence a few years ago but the dollar was so weak I couldn't justify going to Pic.

        If ever near Roanne I would go to Troisgros. Cook a couple of his dishes.

        But only like inventive chefs.

        Expect Robuchon will do well in Bordeaux. Sure the city could use and support a star chef.
