asian tofu/vegetarian "mock meat"?

rikk Jul 12, 2013 03:33 AM

Not sure what key words to use for a title.
I remember a while ago seeing a thread for an asian restaurant that is non-meat, but does everything with tofu, and it tastes "just like chicken" etc. Can't remember the name, location, thread, or even if it was good. Recommendations?

Posters have answered you---meanwhile, I assume you know Le Commensal, the ultimate vegetarian serve-yourself buffet in the Western Hemisphere. See their website. How lucky Montreal is to have Le Commensal.

Too bad it is in receivership (and went flexitarian, which might have contributed to its financial troubles).

I have yet to go to Yuan--it's on the list!--but I think ChuChai is still very Asian-inspired. The casual bistro, Chuch, has definitely strayed from that in terms of being less Asian and more tapas-oriented.

Most definitely ChuChai @4088 St-Denis between Rachel and Duluth. It's super good. Thai-inspired.
