Dining alone in Paris

I will be in Paris the first week of November. I am staying at the Hotel Verneuil on the left bank but willing to go pretty much anywhere. I don't have any monetary constraints but would like to feel comfortable eating alone. Any recommendations would be welcome. Thanks

There are several threads where we've already suggested places; you might check those out and then refine your query to help us be more spexcific.

nothing special but once on a trip due to a friend's illness I had to eat alone in the Left Bank. Hotel Cardinal Lemoine (a block from that Metro stop) looked friendly and became friendlier when I ordered a few glasses of wellscotch. like I said nothing special, just typical bistro fare, served with cheer and warmth. but that was more than a few years back.

I have never felt uncomfortable dining alone anywhere in Paris. If this is your first time doing so, I hope you will have a great time. I find French restaurateurs seem to bend over backwards to make the single diner feel cosseted.
