Just in case anyone has been withdrawing from not being able to get Twinkies, they weren't suppose to be back until the 15th, but the Star Mkt in the Fenway has a prominent display of their Twinkies, cupcakes and powdered mini domettes right when you walk through the front door.

Just Hostess. Drake's Cakes was bought by a different company so they're not back yet.

Drake's are now owned by Little Debbie and are expected to be back in stores this fall.

Yes, my sister is anxiously awaiting the return of Funny Bones but it looks like those will have to wait until Little Debbie revives the Drakes Cakes items in the fall.

I love Funny Bones too. I still have 2 packs in my freezer. I also really liked the low fat devil dogs for 160-170 calories. Hope they bring them back.

              Regular Devil Dogs had fat?

              :-)

I thought they had 30% less fat.

I just looked it up...7grams of fat vs 4 grams for the low fat.

But the calories aren't really significantly different.

Yippee! I've missed Ring Dings and Yodels. I've only seen Twinkies once since they've come back.

Sunny Doodles were one of my favorites but I'm not holding my breath on seeing them soon. Also the brownies were good and fudgey.

I looked at a Twinkies box. Still made with animal fat.

                  Big question, why?\

                  Here are my theories:

                  1) They had a whole lot of animal fat laying around the bakeries.

                  2) Animal fat is that much cheaper than vegetable fat.

                  3) Twinkies and their other products just won't taste the same if they switch.

They're just dusting off the Twinkies that have been in storage since Wonder went Chapter 11. Those things & cockroaches are all that will survive the end of days. More interested in the fate of Sno-Balls, which at least contained some food products.

For anyone interested, the Stop & Shop in Watertown on Pleasant Street has Drakes Cakes, just saw them.

Went to BJ's today and they had Ring Dings, Devil Dogs, Yodels and Coffee Cakes. Picked up some Ring Dings and can't wait to try them later.
