Restaurants near the High

Am traveling with a group of about 20 people from Philadelphia in late September for a tour of art museums in your lovely city. Need lunch and dinner suggestions on the level of the Vetri restaurants in Philly if you are familiar with them. Nice wine list, good food and room for a group. Italian or farm-to-table would be good. Looking forward to some great suggestions....!

  1. Veni vidi vici is excellent--- south city kitchen is also very good Empire state south a little further away. There used to be a place called 1280 which was right next to the high--might check and se if its still there--ill check too

I'll second the suggestion for Empire State South, which is completely terrific.

Veni Vidi Vici on the other hand is a little dated, essential in 1993 but not so much today. It's good, but I'd go a few miles north to either Davio's or to Cibo e Beve over VVV for the kind of nice, true-Italian experience you're looking for.

    2. Olmsted, Article 14 and Park 75 (at Four Seasons) are close by...not inexpensive, but good food. Cucina Asellina is also fairly close to the High Museum...love their truffle prosciutto pizza.

      1. When you write "near" the High, what do you mean?
Atlanta is not a walking city like Philadelphia.
Will your group have a bus or a couple vans? Or do you want all spots within walking distance of the High?

(I wish Marc Vetri lived in ATL)
