Batter & Berries

Am going to breakfast later this week at Batter & Berries. Over 200 Yelps and a personal recommendation say it's the best breakfast ever. Have studied menu. Am leaning toward the sweet potato waffle stuffed with fried chicken and topped with maple butter and hot sauce. Then on the other hand...any Chow advice?

Trip report: Ate there today. The food is unique, delicious, and nicely presented. I went with the sweet potato waffle and chicken. And every other dish I saw looked wonderful, especially the lobster omelet and the crabcakes Benedict. One problem, I have never been in a restaurant with such terrible noise. The cacophony was unpleasant, almost unbearable. On a weekday mid-morning B&B was only half full but even then my companion and I could not at all hear each other talk, even shouting, and were reduced to communicating by hand signals. I can imagine that anyone with a hearing aid would get painful feedback and might be well-advised to avoid this place. But if you can tolerate the noise, the food is great.

I'm not a big fan of sweets so I like their savory menu items. Crab cakes and eggs amazing.
