Hi,

We're headed to Barcelona at the end of the summer to celebrate my Wife's 30th bday. I've been pouring over the threads here and I'm a touch overwhelmed. Please help me narrow this down. I'm trying to get a good blend but I'm coming up heavy on the fine dining. I don't want to miss anything but I don't want food fatigue either. So far I've got:

Thursday Paco Merlago (I think this is a good way to start the trip)

Friday 41 (booked... v. excited)

Saturday countryside Food tour with Aborigens...then Quimet & Quimet, Gresca?

Sunday We're thinking paella for brunch (?) then Moments dinner (open sundays and we're staying at the mandarin)

Monday (birthday) Abac? Moo? Gelonch? Cinc Centis? Something special.

Monday we're going to do the Dali Museum in Figures so any recommendations for lunch on the way or in figures would be greatly appreciated too..

Am I missing anything? Too ambitious?

Thank you

Abac, Moo and Cinc Sentits are all closed Mondays (Sundays also). Do check if it has changed.

Ack, thanks. So that means it's Gelonch or maybe Alkimia. Or since Abac is open sunday we can switch that for Moments... that's open Monday... which is the most "special?"

For ambience, Abac for sure. I am not taken by the dining room at Moments but the service is excellent. Alkimia is simple modern but comfortable. Gelonch is just 'plain' (same for Gresca and Cinc Sentits). Abac and Moments are more ambitious than the rest; one is paying for that.
