Does anyone have recommendations for snacks near The Basilica of the National Shrine?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is a Quiznos in the plaza down Michigan Ave, but I don't think that's what you want... Are you driving?

I would stop either before or after at Union Market or A.Literri. I went to school at CUA-CSL and there just isn't a lot in the area.

We go to Menomale a lot. It's very good Neapolitan pizza, sandwiches, etc. The owners are from Italy. It's probably the best place in Brookland. It's also closer to the Basilica than Union Market or A. Litteri (I do love Litteri's!)

There is a Tex-Mex place called San Antonio in Brookland--I went once and haven't been back, Take a look at the menu and read some reviews to see if it would meet your needs.

Is Little Ricky's still around? Any good?

Menomale is excellent. But it's more of a sit down restaurant. if you are looking for portable snacks then Union Market would be a good bet.
