I am from out of town, and I am going to Fiola on Friday. If it wasn't the summer, I probably would be wearing a jacket for dinner. Given the hot weather, I would like to know how most men dress for dinner at Fiola and if I should wear a jacket on Friday.

I've seen people there in shorts.

A nice pair of jeans and a button-down shirt is more than sufficiently "upscale" for Fiola.

As an aside, from my experience the "dress code" at DC restaurants are more for the guests at the table than it is based on any type of restaurant ukase, spoken or otherwise.

I've never felt out of place in Fiola without a jacket. A collared dress shirt and slacks or even decent jeans and you'll be fine.

It bills itself as a trattoria, albeit upscale. Hard to imagine feeling out of place without a jacket, especially in summer.
