Need a good place to take my parents for dinner....

My parents are in town next week. I need a good place to take them for dinner. I'm looking for something that's fun, touristy and shows off Vegas... but doesn't skew too young. They're conservative... but on the metropolitan side and appreciate good food and cool restaurants.

Places I have already taken them...

Gordon Ramsey's Steak at the Paris
Honey Salt
Japonais at the Mirage

They loved all three places. Steak was worth the price... but I'm looking for places a little less expensive this time around.

I have yet to show them Fremont. So I may take them there. I'm thinking Oscar's or something in the Golden Nugget. I also got us tickets to see Le Reve at the Wynn. I'm thinking Lakeside might be a good choice beforehand... or Andrea's.

  1. Your parents sound like they just might enjoy a place like The Barrymore (, which has a great old-school vibe about it. And it would be rather convenient if you are taking them to Le Reve.

The Flame at the El Cortez
Canal Street or Prime Rib Loft at the Orleans
Mon Ami Gabon at Paris. Sit at the front of the restaurant or on the patio and watch the fountains at Bellagio

      1. Less expensive and fun...with a little bit of "Vegas".....OK, seating is "first come, first reservations...BUT, a windowseat table inside at Mon Ami Gabi at The Paris overlooking the fountains of The Bellagio would be my choice. Excellent pate and French bread, hangar steak with pomme frite, and great wine by the glass...along with solid service. Major downside is noise level...but it can be fun and at a fraction of the cost of most Strip restos with a view.
