Buying Meat bones

Does anybody know places to buy bones for making stock in calgary? do most butchers just sell them if you ask? anybody got good recomendations?

    I think pretty much any butcher would sell them to you, just ask. Most grocers usually have some in the displays, but typically small amounts. If you wanted a larger quantity, go to a processor that sells to the public, like Red Deer Lake Meats, in the SW, south of the 22x. Call ahead and they will sometimes put an order together for you.

      Check out Foothills Meats in High River,,,,,652-2204 & ask for Jennifer.
      I take my steers there for processing......the place is spotless & service is excellent.

          Also check the frozen section, they're often in there.

            Go to Hoven farms at the Kingsland Farmers market. They almost always have lots of bones in the freezer section and their beef is very good quality as well.

            If they don't have any, the butcher is always there so you can easily talk to him about it.
