Mix....looking for recent reviews

We're in Vegas several times a year visiting our son. Each trip combines local casual joints and upscale, strip and off strip. The upcoming Vegas trip is a jumping off spot before a week of gluttony in Napa Valley, therefore only looking for one upscale Vegas restaurant this trip. The menu at Mix looks interesting, but this board is mostly silent about it. Can anyone provide info/reviews? Thanks!

  1. I have not personally dined at Mix since before the concept change, but a few of my friends have on various occasions and they have not raved about the food. It's an Alain Ducasse restaurant, but you would never know it based on the food. They just told me it was average food with no wow factor or creativity.

    1. Mix is a great place for a view and to bring a date. I think of it as a place for drinks more than a place for food. I go there all the time and didn't realize they even had food until my friend ordered some last night. lol.

The crowd is usually on the younger side... but can skew older if there is a big event or convention at Mandalay Bay. Sometimes you get a danceclub atmosphere. Sometimes you get a quiet lounge. And you don't really know what it will be until you get there.

My advice... go to a resturant downstairs at Mandalay Bay (or the Luxor next door) and then go up to Mix for a drink and the view afterwards.

(This is my view from last night. I took it quick and it's blurry but I was answering a text that said "Where are you now?" lol. At least it gives you an idea of the view)

      1. Agree with Goblin....great for after-dinner drinks and view. It's location in theHOTEL gets the "beautiful crowd" later at night. Perhaps dinner at Charlie Palmer's Aureole (great winelist) at 8pm, then on to Mix for late night drinks.
