Any interesting onigiri to be found in LA, Westside-ish?

JudiAU Jul 3, 2013 11:09 AM

I don't know why I've never given these to the kids before they fell in love with onigiri at a potluck recently. The ones they liked were very simple and flavored with nori. Any good sources locally?

Have you been to Sunny Blue http://www.sunnyblueinc.com/ on Main Street? If not you really ought to go.

I constantly ask myself the same question about places posted here that I've never heard of before.

+1 on Sunny Blue. Their miso mushroom is fantastic. I usually get one of those and a beef miso as a meal. If they have ebi mayo, I'll get that too. They can wrap the omusubi to go with special nori wrappers enclosed in plastic, but they taste best fresh.

And someday, if we are lucky, they'll be in Los Feliz as well!

              Sunny Blue was great.
              Crisp nori, excellent rice wonder-fillings.
