Great food in Barcelona!
Have been really enjoying our first trip here. Some of the highlights so far:
Scrambled eggs with shrimp, asparagus, mushrooms and other veg at Bar Pinxto in La Boqueria
Razor clams for breakfast at some random counter in La Boqueria
Tasting menu with wine pairings at Hisop, except for the lame service at the end.
Tasting menu at La Palerma last night, at 21,50 E for 6 small plates and dessert, a total bargain. The 4 of us ate family style and had 12 courses + 4 desserts, got out for 120 E including wine.
Drinking wine and munching on fresh bread, Iberian ham and aged Machego in our apt right now, will be checking out Gresca tonight.
Love it here!
It's a terrific town. BTW, we were told that even though that ham is shrink wrapped, it can't be brought back state-side. We enjoyed a great meal at Casa Leopoldo near Boqueria and great tapas served by a most enthusiastic owner at Casa Lucio earlier this year. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Had a very enjoyable meal at Gresca, got the girls to try some more unusual ingredients like Pigeon, Foie Gras and sardines. Very fun time.
Walked all the way from our apt to the beach and had a decent lunch at Can Ros, my grilled sardines were excellent.
Dinner at Llambera Taberna, very creative take on Tapas by a Ferran Adria disciple.
Really enjoyed our trip, generally excellent food in Barcelona.
Now in Paris, glad that people eat late here also, it's too hard to be ready for dinner any early than 9-9:30 at this point, it's going to be strange going back to our normal eating hours when we get home.
