Food Market Recently?

Has anyone been here recently? I went last night and most everything was absolutely flavorless and awful. Lowlights:

Pretzels: Basically an Auntie Ann's pretzel rod with a flavorless mornay sauce. I was expecting some bite from a beer cheese, but nothing remotely close.

Cracked Fried Oysters with bacon & egg emulsion: There was so much breading on these things I couldn't even find an oyster. The bacon & egg emulsion was completely flavorless. Honestly it was like a really poorly made aioli. If you didn't tell me what it was, there's no chance I could have guessed it. Ate 2 of 7 and sent the rest back, still had to pay for them though.

The Chicken: For as much hype as I've heard about this chicken dish I was blown away by how bad it was. They must have roasted that poor leg for 45 minutes then deep fried it to crisp it up. I've never had such a dry piece of chicken in a restaurant - completely nuked. The noodles that came with it were flavorless and out of place. The peas were actually fresh and quite nice but the broth that was poured over the dish was another flavorless add-on.

My wife had a crabcake which was average. Nothing special.

Pretty decent cocktails and a nice setting. Certainly won't be going back however. If you are selling 25 to 30 dollar entrees in Hampden your execution had better be spot on. WAY off.

  1. I was there about 3 weeks ago for brunch...had the pork belly sliders and Resurrection...they were stellar....off night maybe? The only thing there I don't like is the NOISE.

If everything was just slightly off I'd agree about an off night but everything was a disaster. Amateur mistakes.

    2. The quality there is hit or miss. When I have had an issue, they have been happy to remake the dish.

We are going next Saturday. Has it improved? What should we get vs. avoid for the best experience? 6 of us are going and at least 4 are "sharers".
