Simon's Hot Dogs Sedona

When Elote is closed 'cause its Monday, and you've already been to Wildflower for breakfast and had a burger at Cowboy Club for lunch, what's a chowhound to do for dinner?
GREAT place and a new discovery for us was Simon's Hotdogs. Best hotdog I've ever had. The place is tucked into the OakCreek Brewery. NOT the one in Talacapaque, but to one off of coffee pot road. You order at a window and the owner will serve you in the bar. Great guy from Columbia who took great care that we had what we wanted and followed up on things after bringing our food. He took care that our 14 year old daughter found something she liked as well. Better service than I've seen in San Diego in a long time, it seemed like. The food: delicious. I've never raved about a hotdog-- but ours were amazing. Flavorful--toppings we ordered were excellent. Chili was homemade and spiced perfectly. My amigo dog had the right amount of each topping. Veggie option on menu. My daughter had a creamy corn dish topped with bacon, parm cheese, and crumbled potato chips. Unique and delicious. The bun was the best I've had too! I know I'm raving about a HOTDOG, but it was a dining experience! Other Colombian twists on hotdogs on the menu, which we will be trying. We tried a great hefeweisen and pale ale with our food from Oak Creek Brewery. Outdoor patio as well as indoor seating.

Do you think they have a turkey/veggie option?
    Did you get to Elote?

Beach Chick I actually was thinking of you when I noticed the veggie and vegan options! i read your Sedona posts with interest and your San Diego posts are always100% lined up with my tastes.
No turkey on the menu at Simons but the owner is so accommodating I think he would go hunt you a turkey and make you a hotdog!
Just got home from Elote. Amazing chocolate swirl ice cream with goat milk caramel sauce that had my 14 year old sophisticated daughter screaming " I want that" at the waiter before she was finished describing it. The caramel Kahlua flan with homemade jam was amazing tho I thought the jam would be too much, it was not. A new addition of crab flautas were also above average.

Yup. Had a California burrito at Sofia's in Gila Bend for lunch and we shared slices of lemon meringue, chocolate cream and a new butterscotch pie at Rock Springs for dessert. Will go to Garlands. Never been. Thanks.
