We wanted a family get-together this Sunday for the baby's 1st birthday without suffering through grilling in the heat, potential for bad weather and a ton of shopping and running around. The Husband was away this week and I promised easy, all taken care of, everyone will love it!
Enter- JT Straws in Port Chester, NY. For those of you who are not familiar with it, you should be...awesome food and awesome people! Yes, yes, it looks like something very dive-y perhaps when you drive by, but I assure you, this food is top notch BBQ, wings and more!
Dave, the owner was SO helpful and agreeable to whatever we needed. I can't thank him enough.
We had 200 wings- thai peanut, honey BBQ, teryaki and original buffalo. I don't like wings and only eat them at JT's. Thai peanut are sick!! We had 2 trays of BBQ, done in the smoker, chicken leg quarters that we were out of this world. We had a tray of 12 hour smoked brisket that was SO good, there was next to none left. My BIL and FIL insisted they never tasted anything like it. We had delicious sides like homemade black bean and corn salad , corn on the cob, and wonderful cole slaw,- not the yucky, gushy kind. We had it all!!
Dave delivered all the food to us, lent us the ranks and sternos and set it all up for us when we were ready to get it going. He was so terrific and the food was seriously amazing. Even gluten-free pizza cooked on a screen for my nephew with celiac!
I can't say enough about how good the food was and how easy the entire staff was to work with.
If you like wings, BBQ and good casual food- I encourage to dine in, take out, or order in for a gathering. You will be thrilled! We can't wait to eat in or out at JT Straw's very soon!!
