Best Vietnamese in Charlotte?

NJ Plainsman Jun 30, 2013 06:42 PM

Will be visiting Charlotte this week and looking for cheap, hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese. Any favorites out there? Many thanks in advance.

Lang Van and Ben Thanh are both excellent, imo.

Vietnamese is my favorite cuisine. I have not found bad Vietnamese food in Charlotte. Lang Van and Ben Thanh are both excellent. Doan's, Vietnam Grille and Saigon Palace don't disappoint us. Even Viet Thai Noodle House has some pretty solid dishes and great service. That said, Pho Hoa (I know, I know, it's an international chain) on Central (not to be confused with Pho an Hoa) is by far our favorite for pho. Cheap? Check, Hole in the wall? Check.

Ben Thanh if you're close to the East side, Vietnam Grille or Doan's if you're on the South side.

I'm with SouthernItalian though I've never disliked any Vietnamese in Charlotte. It is one of my favorite cuisines as well.

And on the north side of town, in the slightly scary Asian Corner mall on Tryon is Truc and Le's sandwiches.

Haha I always think "Its not that bad" until I go back and it really is. The food is delicious mind you but the parking lot looks like a war zone (or perhaps a Walking Dead set).
