Catering ideas for a summer birthday party?

We're throwing a small-ish (~30 people) birthday party for a 2 year old -- mainly adults and family -- and are stuck on catering ideas. Are there unique and fun options (besides just cold cut platters and rolls?) that you all would recommend?

The party will be in central CT.

Thank you!

Red Wagon Pizza in New Haven. Great thin crust, New Haven style, lots of combo's.

What about a clambake? There are various companies that will bring it to you and either drop it off or cook onsite, or you can pick it up and take it home (or wherever the party is)! I haven't done this myself, but have seen it offered and thought it sounded fun/different. Wish I could recommend a specific vendor, but I can't... just the idea!

BT's Smokehouse in Sturbridge Mass (on the CT border)does a whole Pig Roast as well as regular BBQ. The food is fantastic. You could decorate with bales of hay, red/white tableclothes, etc.

They do full service catering as well as pick up. You can check out their menu/prices on the website.
