Driving to PEI

  • 3

We're starting out on a long road trip and probably going to enter Canada via I-87 or I-91 to Quebec. Then driving over to PEI staying at the Rodd Brudenell River. We'll be staying there one week and then heading back to the US to the southern New Hampshire area.

We like to sample local specialties and are very big on seafood. Any recommendations on where to try or where to avoid.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. The place you're staying is in Georgetown, on the eastern part of PEI. It's about a 40-minute drive from Charlottetown, where Claddagh and Lot 30 are, and even further from the North Shore where New Glasgow is. If you want to stay close to the hotel, I've heard recommendations for:

      Georgetown Inn - www.peigeorgetownhistoricinn.com
      Clamdiggers Beach House - www.clamdiggers.ca

Thanks, yes I realize the distances involved. We're staying at the Rodd location for 6 nights and didn't want to lock ourselves into too many meals just in Georgetown.

In addition to the drive to and from the island we'll spend a bit of time exploring PEI. We like to have lots of recommendations.

It looks like we're going to spend a night or two in Quebec on the way to PEI and then head to Maine and New Hampshire on the way home.

        Thanks for all your help.
