Fresh Lotus seeds
I picked up a bag of fresh (not dried) lotus seeds at the market today. Does anyone have any good ideas on what to do with them?
The Chinese *love* lotus seeds - for fresh ones, you can have the seeds as a dessert by boiling them in a sweet, syrupy soup:
Or you can treat it as just another carb by boiling it with pork or chicken for a savoury soup.
Or simply steam the seeds and serve them as an accompaniment for ice-cream.
