Big help needed for Harrisburg area

Hi all, I have an unusual request but I figured my friends on CH are the ones who can help.

You know how everyone wants tips to help them AVOID fast food restaurants?

I need just the opposite. I'm asking for a recommendation for a stop in the Harrisburg vicinity that is chock-full of fast food restaurants. McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Arby's, KFC etc.... somewhere off I-81.

My husband and a group of 65 teen and adult volunteers are traveling from Connecticut to West Virginia for an Appalachian Service Project, where they repair homes for families.

En route they plan on making a lunch stop in the Harrisburg area off I-81.

Last year, wherever they stopped (not sure if it was the Harrisburg area) they ran into a BIG problem. There was only one Wendy's at the stop, and with 65 people, one restaurant isn't enough. Took way too long.

They are traveling in a group of vans so they can spread out. It needs to be fast food as opposed to full-service sitdown because basically they are eating and running. They don't have time for a long lunch.

Can you please recommend a stop somewhere in that vicinity that has a number of fast food restaurants in one little cluster?

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

  1. In Carlisle at I-81 and PA RT 11, there is an Arby's, McDonald's, Subway, and Wendy's.

In Chambersburg (quite a bit further west) at I-81 and RT 30 there is a Burger King, Long John Silver's, McDonald's and Taco Bell and Hardee's a bit further down the road.

    Good luck to your husband!
