Best seafood restaurant in Mount Pleasant SC area

I've recently been making weekly trips to Mount Pleasant for follow up exams after a surgery. I've eaten at most of the places in Shem Creek, except for Vickerys. What are some other good seafood restaurants in the general area, including Isle of Palms? I'm dying to find a good oyster bar. Thanks in advance.

  1. Oysters are out of season right now, shrimp are in. The Shem Creek places are ok. You might want to look at Mustard Seed, Pages, Locklears, Carter's Kitchen in I'on, Sea Biscuit on IOP for lunch.

Thanks Sue. I recall that you moved away from Mount Pleasant about a year ago. Still away, or have you moved back.

I'm still away. I moved in August last year. Daddy was failing and Mama needed me. But I return often, How could I not? :D

If you can go into town, try Amen for oysters. They won't be local this time of year, but they have a great selection.

If you are on Facebook, Page's posts specials daily. With pictures! Ashleigh was my neighbor back in the day, and I think she is doing a great job there. Try it and tell us what you think.

Hope all's well with the surgery thing.

    2. A new Mt Pl seafood restaurant just opened June 9 at Patriots Point, Charleston Harbor Fish House. http://www.charlestonharborfishhouse.... Local oysters are out of season, but they'll have other varieties.

      Give it a try.

No it's completely separate. Adjacent to the College of Charleston marina.

I've been wondering about this place. In March we rode by with a friend who said it would be the largest restaurant in greater Charleston. The menu looks okay and the head chef cut his teeth at the Boat House.Well, it may be okay or at least a safety valve to divert tourist overflow from the places we love.Until we see a big ole fiberglass crab being installed, we will hope for the best.

I wonder how large it will be to be the largest?

They will have a long road to travel to be the highest grossing restaurant in Charleston County...California Dreaming & Hyman's are tough spots to top in the sales category...

        3. Not sure what direction you are coming from but when we go to mt pleasant for drs apps we stop at see wee! So delicious.

I'm driving into town from Columbia. LOL and I'm originally from Alabama, so Gulf oysters suit me just fine if local aren't in season right now.

Amen Street has Gulf oysters according to their website. I love those too.
