Pho Noodle Bar at 1011 Pape Ave

janel Jun 28, 2013 11:49 AM

I just drove by and noticed this new restaurant on Pape, between Mortimer and Cosburn. Their site says they opened June 2013, has anyone been here yet?

Their prices are more expensive than most pho places, but if the pho is good and not diluted down to suit "Western" tastes, I'm happy to have another option in the neighbourhood.

Hi, just curious if anyone has tried this restaurant yet? I'm having Pho cravings since our neighbourhood Pho restaurant on the Danforth at Jones went under.

Which place is it that closed? It appears that Bamboo Cafe has closed also.

we live near it. not sure if we're the best people to talk to.
we've basically cut pho out of our diet due to the pounds of salt and MSG that's in most pho.
i went in there shortly after they opened, asked if they used MSG, they said yes, so we politely thanked them and left.

looks nice inside. no AC in the summer. it is family run. pho menu looks limited, but that may not be a bad thing.

Yes I agree re: pho but when I have that craving I succumb. The place that closed was called I Pho I believe? North side of Danforth just west of Jones. I noticed that Bamboo cafe just closed too.

Restaurant was very nice inside, wish I could say the same about the food. Pho was flavourless, really not impressed and unfortunately I won't be going back.

Thanks, I guess I'll stick to Que Ling and Pho House around Broadview and Gerrard.

A great place for pho also in the East York area is Little Coxwell on Coxwell and O'Connor. It is family-run. Awesome fresh rolls. Their pricing for pho is a little more than places you may find on Spadina, but the broth flavour is fairly rich.

Yes I've heard this and the reviews on Yelp are glowing! It's on my list to try, have a lunch date with a friend and can't wait. Thanks!
