Cape Cod evening out near Falmouth, Mashpee, or Sandwich

Mr. Swank and I have the opportunity to dine high on the hog this weekend and renew our flames of passion. Wondering if anyone could recommend a tasty Cape Cod spot in the Mashpee-Falmouth area -- preferably something a bit more offbeat than a typical clamshack. Nothing stuffy, though -- just something non-touristy, maybe a local gem-type spot.

    1. Bleu at Mashpee Commons...Tres Bien and romantic! Chef Feufeu will accommodate your every need. Outdoor seating available. I look forward to lunch dinner there every summer. Bon Appetit!

      1. French mediocre in a shopping mall ....tres blah. How about The Glass Onion or the very excellent Osteria la Civetta in Falmouth. You can stroll a real Cape Village before or after instead of a manufactured one. And be sure to stop at Maison Villette for wonderful French Pastries and cafe au lair.

I second Osteria la Civetta. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food, fantastic. The owners are from Italy and their knowledge of the cuisine shows in the ingredients and the cooking. I will warn that this is not a place for a "quick bite" before a movie. The meals are long and drawn out, but well worth it, especially for sharing with a special someone (or a group of friends). I believe that during Friday and Saturday "happy hours" the bar features a selection of free appetizers, including cheeses, fruits, meats and more.
