Has anyone ever made Galleygirl's pear tart with strawberries?

TorontoJo Jun 24, 2013 05:25 PM

It's strawberry season and I'm thinking of trying galleygirl's pear tart with strawberries instead of pears. Wondering if anyone here has tried that with success.

Nope, not with strawberries..but twice with pears and once with nectarines. And I nabbed Ggi's version and then the adapted version by CH Tom Steele in 2005.

2004 & 2005, in case anyone else wants the recipes.

From reading the posts, it sounds like strawberries would work well, as they call for really ripe, juicy pears.

Let us know if you try it.

My question is...how important is it to have a 8 inch springform. I have a 9 inch (I think). Just less cooking time?

I can't wait for Harry and David pear season!

Thanks, I will! The original recipe says that if you have a 9 inch springform, you can actually make 1.5 recipes.
