Just curious about ketchup, etc

When using ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, etc. do you pour just enough on the meat or do you make a big puddle on the plate and waste what you don't use?

    I don't use Ketchup or Mustard, but do use BBQ sauce and A-1 sauce on meat. I pour just enough on the meat to spread a light coating.

    My kids, however place large globs of ketchup and dressings on their plates to dip into, and end up throwing out more than 50%. This waste burns my a**.

      Sadly, mrs g does the same thing, as does her older brother, and I have the same reaction as you do. They're from Brooklyn; do you suppose that has a bearing on it?

      Depends what it's for... for burgers, hot dogs, etc, then I put just enough on. If it's for fries or anything dipped, then it goes on the plate.

        I squirt directly into my mouth.

        Sort of like Jell-O shots, but without the Jell-O.

            I agree with JJ, depends on what it's for..... A cheeseburger? Goes directly on the bun, sometimes, the meat itself. Fries? Goes on the plate ;)

              I like ketchup and mayo mixed together. Makes a good condiment for french fries.

                Agree emglow. Thow a squirt of sriracha or tapatio and you're golden.

                I don't want the condiment directly on the meat, because I like some bites without (or a bite with whatever side dish).

                I put enough on my plate (not a big puddle) for what I am eating. And add a bit more if it's not enough. No waste.

                  I put it on the plate (mustard) for dipping and I use it up. I love mustard with an unholy love.

                    I usually have all condiments on the side and am a dipper so fall into the latter category where there is usually some left over at the end which I'll sop up with any extra bread bits or just eat straight up.
