Another seafood shack opens tonight in
Venice in the former location of A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, Hooray for more seafood places in LA. It has a very nice menu including Fish Skin Chips and Fried Oysters too at this link:

Wait isn't Willie Jane in the former WISC space? Or is this the former WISC pop-up space?

In the former-pop up space near Gjelina.

Yes, the former WISC pop-up space, i.e. the former Capri.

I went past it last night and it appeared they were having a soft open / F&F type thing. Space looks quite nice. I find it interesting / amusing that the next big thing in LA is apparently upscale versions of the restaurants of my New England childhood.

Same. Between Fishing with Dynamite, Connie & Ted's, this place and others, just makes me want to take a trip back to Rhode Island to enjoy all the same stuff (or better) at a much cheaper cost (not counting airfare of course).

Yeah, but Littlefork is such a small tine operation...

Hey, the "punishment" for reusing your own puns is a severe tongue lashing! (or at least do what I do and leave a bigger amount of time between the uses so people are less likely to remember) ;-D>

Be careful not to lash the tongue too severely, you might make it a little forked.

My tine is up...I must be done. Stick a for... err, never mind

I can't help but recall all the hype about the New England style seafood restaurant, Menemsha as it was set to open in the Marina (where Sunny Spot is now) and it was gone so fast it really was a blur. We went once. I just get this feeling it's like all that nostalgia for Killer Shrimp on this board, and then the new location had a brief flurry of reports and now? Nothing.

Here was my review on Menemsha http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/52173 back in 2002 when I went by a different online moniker (before you had to register).

I'm afraid of bringing up KS for fear of WSG shooting it down. ;-) Not really, but it's not exactly a restaurant that bears much repeat mentioning. We still go there often and they seem to be doing great business.

Me too. In fact, I'm thrilled. Now I just have to convince my So Cal native family to take me to the places!!

That's a pretty disappointing menu. Half of the entrees aren't seafood, and the seafood choices are underwhelming to say the least.

just trying to work out how a menu can be "disappointing."

I have no idea why that's confusing to you.

                Here's their full website: http://www.saltairvenice.com/

They have a brunch menu section but not a live link yet, and at the bottom of the page it says brunch is coming soon...
