Breakfast in Kenmore?

BobB Jun 19, 2013 05:56 AM

I have some friends who will be visiting later this week, staying in Kenmore Sq. They want to meet up for breakfast but I've never eaten in Kenmore earlier than lunch. Any recommendations on a good place to go?

The only decent place would be ESK. If you wanted to go down to Coolidge Corner, Zaftigs is a good option, but Kenmore Sq is pretty limited when it comes to breakfast.

Are you talking weekday or weekend? If weekday, a poster recently shared a very sub par experience at ESK: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/904693 If weekend, Island Creek or Audubon do a great brunch. Trident on Newbury does a pretty good breakfast during the week and it is about a 10 minute walk.

was thinking of that thread too, but i've had numerous breakfasts at esk and it's been perfectly fine.

there's not much else in that hood.

It will be tomorrow morning. I also saw that thread, but one bad report isn't enough to turn me away completely.

Trident Booksellers and Cafe on Newbury near Mass Ave is not too far and they do breakfast all day.

Busy Bee Diner is in the St. Mary's area - a short walk away from Kenmore. It's definitely not fancy, but it's a fun spot.

            +1 on Busy Bee. It's a diner/coffee shop that hasn't changed in 40 years.
