  1. My wife told me about this the other night. Looking at the photo just made it worse. I hope the vintners survive.

I don't understand why we get all this aberrant weather in France. A decade ago a powerful windstorm knocked down 10,000 trees at the Chateau de Versailles.

    1. Oh the pain.

      1. not only were there hailstorms in Vouvray, there was a small tornado in the Cote d'Or (near Burgundy) that wrecked a few houses.

France gets no more aberrant weather than anywhere else -- and considerably less than many places (Moore OK, Superstorm Sandy, Katrina, etc., )

        1. Hailstorm cause large scale damages to Pommard and Volnay

That hits too close to home for me - my favorite wines of all - Cote-de-Beaune.

BIg, big loss for such wonderful vintners and wines.
