charlie palmer steak vs del friscos

I have reservations for both this weekend And cant decide which one to go to.

My favorite steak experience ever in vegas was at craftsteak but have been there 3x and wanted to try something different.

Del friscos is #1 on yelp which worries me. And my friend said while good, DF has the ambiance of an Outback.

Plus CP cut of the week menu this week looks amazing!!

I went to Del Frisco's once several years ago and found it mediocre. The Martini was good. I don't remember the sides. I do remember a very average steak and that the waiter asked me to cut into the center to check if it was done correctly. I hate that. I remember the cheesecake being an awful concoction that resembled a gelatin thaw and serve desert. They did have a good selection of half bottles of wine but I've never wanted to return.

Been to Charlie Palmer's 4 times and have never had a bad meal. Never did have the cut of the week special and still enjoyed my experience. This week's cut of the week sounds especially terrific. I vote for Charlie Palmers.

You may have answered your own question, a bit. For others to share in the conversation, here is the CP special for this week -

Unfortunately I will have to be out of Las Vegas this week - would have particularly enjoyed the creamed corn side, and the Tataki appetizer (they have a Vietnamese talent in the kitchen in Bo) . On the weeks when the menu appeals it is a difficult deal to pass up when you compare what a similar meal would cost at a place like Del Frisco (which is indeed good, but would check in at about double the price point, perhaps more depending on the wine).

It also depends on the kind of evening you want to have. One of the nice aspects of a dinner at CP these days is being able to stroll over to Press for an outdoor nightcap afterwards.
