Mexican Chorizo in Toronto, who has the best?

I want to buy some chorizo sausages. Not the cured kind, the fresh kind. Which butcher shop, grocery store etc. should I go to?

  1. Sanagan's had some good Mexican chorizo.

    1. If you want it made by Mexicans, the good people at El Trompo used to (havent asked in a while) sell theirs uncooked by the pound. A little further away, Segovia Meats down the street make many varieties of chorizo that try to capture the flavours of Mexico, South and Central America. (my personal faves are the Guatemalan),

Doh, I was thinking of Segovia, not Sanagan's!

This is where I would go if I didn't make it myself.

I love their 3 Chorizo Chili and always get a bowl when I'm in the market.

Hooked seems like it needs to be investigated.

        2. Here's a link to a thread and recipes for on making your own Mexican chorizo.

          1. Hooked in Leslieville usually has chorizo made by this guy Luis Suarez who delivers it on his bike. Outstanding stuff.

Super duper outstanding. Had them for dinner tonight in fact. We devour these chorizo - the BEST.

Are these the ones that are cooked already and they come in a vac pack of five or six?
